Hi, I’m Reese.
I’ve been married to Tim, for 22 years. We’ve had five kids together.
In July 2011, while living in England, our third child, Aiden, was diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma). He underwent radiation therapy in Cambridge before we moved back to the Pacific Northwest, a few hours from our hometown.
On June 27, 2012, Aiden went to be with Jesus.
In this blog, I will document my own journey through grief and mourning as I learn to live without precious Aiden. I intend to give God the glory for every step forward as I invite others to glimpse the pain and devastation of losing a child, while offering hope and healing to other parents experiencing the same loss.
“I thought I could describe a state; make a map of sorrow. Sorrow, however, turns out to be not a state but a process.”
― C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed
I also intend to explore the next step… to witness and document how God will turn these ashes into beauty, to bring glory to his name despite- or because of- my earthly loss.
